    HELLO ALL

I am registered under Punjab VAT Proprietor firm.

I recently changed my business place.

My old place was rented , which is no longer in my possession.

My new business place is my owned property.

Now , My address in VAT Certificate is old one.

Now during registration process of GST, Should i enter my new address ? or the old one and get it changed later?

For my new address , i have property registry copy as proof.

    Please guide me on this.

If its in regards to the same state, you may consult your VAT Department and get it amended there. Also, for your information, the data which has been migrated from VAT is the legal name and PAN, both of which are non-editable fields. The other details are open for you to enter as per the documents uploaded along. Thus in your case, in my opinion, you should do the needful as per VAT Laws ensuring amendment of the address and get an updated RC issued. After that you may upload the same in GST Portal and mention the new address therein. In this case there would be no hustle in GST migration and changes thereafter.

I also face the similar problem during the GST Registration regarding one of the my client. my best suggestion if the new place is within in the same state then no issues.
without changes into the VAT Department directly input the new address on the GST Portal and must upload the new electricity bill copy of that premise with the NOC. So GST Department can verify the same and may be issued the ARN Number.
